MaKami College started as a dream for providing a positive learning environment to people in need of a career change. MaKami College is owned and operated by a family of four directors that went into business together to combine their experience and love of helping people achieve their goals. Meet the business owners below.

Ljubica Pavkovic

Mrs. Ljubica Pavkovic is the director of operations and department head for the Massage Therapy program. Ljubica is solely responsible for the MaKami College curriculum, courses, workshops and training of all staff. She is not only a Licensed Massage Therapist but is also a Licensed Practical Nurse, a Holistic Practitioner and holds certification is so many disciplines of massage that there is not enough space to mention them all here. Ljubica is also accredited in Adult Continuing Education and inspires students daily with her passion for education and love of learning. She has over 20 years of experience and has received many awards in her career. Ljubica has dedicated her life to making MaKami College a place that provides a positive and supportive learning environment for every student that walks through our school doors.

Marija Pavkovic-Tovissi

Mrs. Pavkovic-Tovissi is the managing director of MaKami College and is also responsible for the hiring of all staff and related payroll. With her educational background being in marketing and management, Marija’s knowledge and experience is invaluable to the students. Students will be assisted in finding job placement, developing business skills, and learning valuable information about the industry.

Marija has over 15 year experience in business and continues to grow her network of employers so that MaKami College graduates find instant job opportunities. In 2005 she was the first woman to receive the “Salesperson of the Month” award from JJ Barnicke Edmonton and in 2009 she was voted Edmontonians and Global TV’s Sizzling Twenty Under 30 for her business achievements and charitable involvements. In addition to be a on the board of numerous successful companies, Marija still makes time to volunteer for organizations such as Big Brothers and Big Sisters and always gives back to her community.

Vladimir Pavkovic

Vladimir is the marketing director for the college and is in charge of all student recruitment. He offers students constant support and assistance with financing options and student applications. Being born into an entrepreneurial family, Vladimir started his first company at 14 years of age. Since then he has continued to grow and expand his experience through numerous successful companies. He sits on the board of directors of three major corporations and lends his expertise to assist the students in their own pursuit of career satisfaction.

Dragan Pavkovic

Mr. Pavkovic is the finance director and construction manager. Dragan holds several journeyman tickets and is charge of all college construction projects and expansions. In addition to this expertise, he also oversees the financial department of MaKami College and although he is not at the college on a day to day basis his involvement is nevertheless incredibly valuable to the organization.
