Bridal Contest Winners Get Pampered!

Reem and Matt, the winners of Makami College’s Bridal Spa package, came into the school on June 20 with their bridal party to cash in on their prize! The group spent the day getting a rose petal foot scrub a scrub or mud wrap and their choice of hot stone, bamboo, deep tissue, prenatal or relaxation massage.

Sports and deep tissue workshops coming in July

Hey students! We have some great workshops coming to Makami College in July!

James Mally, N.D., will be coming to MaKami College in Edmonton in March to teach two seminars – one on sports massage and one on deep tissue. These seminars are open to all massage therapy students at the school.

Kerstin Pelletier is a Makami College alumni member! Pelletier graduated from MaKami College’s massage therapy program and decided to open her own spa. “I got a lot of confidence from learning at MaKami College and when I left I knew I had the tools to go out and be who I was and do a good job for my clients,” says Pelletier, who says she enjoys the feeling she gets from helping others. “I see people come in not feeling well, and they often leave and they say they feel like they have a dance in my step, and that’s a really good feeling to be able to do that for people.”

MaKami College takes part in World Wish Day

MaKami College is proud to have taken part in the Make a Wish Foundation’s World Wish Day celebrations at the Stollery Children’s Hospital on April 26, 2012. A few staff members attended with the director Luba Pavkovic to massage the children and their parents. What a great and heart warming event! Even the Stollery’s mascot Dr. Patch Up decided to get in on the action and get a massage! The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation is an amazing organization.
